Ingredients:
- 50 grams of fresh chicken liver (wash and cut into small pieces)
- 3 tbsp white or brown rice (choose organic if possible)
- 100 ml homemade unsalted chicken stock
- 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
- 1 small piece of fresh ginger (crushed, for aroma)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 stalk of lemongrass (crushed)
- 1 small piece of carrot (grated or cut into small pieces)
How to make:
1. Stir-fried Chicken Liver
- For MPASI: saute the spices with 1 tbsp coconut oil or Extra Virgin Olive Oil and add the chicken liver.
- For BLW: Place the chicken livers in boiling water for 5 minutes to remove dirt and fishy smell. Drain and cut into small pieces.
2. Add Rice
- Place the rice, chicken stock, and carrots in a saucepan.
- Cook over low heat until the rice becomes soft porridge.
3. Remove the bay leaves, lemongrass and ginger
- Once the porridge is cooked, remove the bay leaves, lemongrass and ginger before putting it in the blender.
- Stir well and cook until the porridge is as thick as you like.
4. Adjust Texture
- For baby weaning: Blend or strain the porridge until the texture is smooth according to the baby's age.
- For BLW tips: Serve in the form of thick porridge that is easy for babies to spoon.
Important Tips:
- Use fresh chicken livers for best results and avoid livers that have been stored for a long time.
- Use Homemade unsalted chicken broth for a more savory taste and higher protein content than instant broth because it is free from MSG and added salt.
- Introduce chicken liver gradually , as the taste and texture are quite strong for babies.
