Aromatic Seasoning (remove before serving):

  • 1 candlenut

  • 1 small piece of cinnamon

  • 1–2 cloves

  • 1 stalk of lemongrass (crushed)

How to Make Beef Rendang for Baby Food:

  1. Stir-fry Spices & Meat:
Heat a little oil. Sauté the aromatic spices until fragrant. Add the ground spices and sauté briefly. Add the minced beef and stir-fry until it changes color.

  2. Cook with Coconut Milk & Stock:
Pour in the coconut milk and beef stock. Stir well, then cook over low heat until the meat is tender and the sauce has reduced slightly.

  3. Add Rice & Vegetables:
Add the white rice, carrots, and spring onions. Stir until evenly mixed and the mixture forms a porridge-like consistency. Finally, add the spinach and tomatoes. Cook briefly until wilted.

  4. Puree or Serve According to Age:
Discard the aromatic spices. Puree with a blender or strain for pureed baby food. Add broth if the texture is too thick. For BLW, serve with soft steamed carrot pieces.
