7-Month-Old Baby Food Recipe: Homemade Yellow Spiced Chicken, Rich in Protein and Natural Fiber

This Homemade Yellow Spiced Chicken recipe is a perfect baby solid food option that's both flavorful and gentle on your baby's tummy. With soft chicken, mild spices, and veggies, it’s packed with natural goodness. Serve it as a smooth puree or as finger food for Baby-Led Weaning (BLW)—your choice!
Ingredients (±90–100 gr / 1x meal):

30 grams of boneless chicken

3 tbsp cooked white rice

5 grams of grated carrots (optional, can be replaced with other vegetables)

5 grams of finely chopped green beans (optional)

1 cherry tomato (remove seeds)

60–70 ml homemade chicken stock

A little EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
Mashed spice mix (blended or ground):

Garlic

Turmeric
-
Ginger
Aromatic spices (to be removed before serving):

Red onion

Galangal (smashed)

Lemongrass (smashed)

Bay leaf

Leek
How to make:

Prepare the Chicken:
Clean and finely chop boneless chicken. Set aside. -
Sauté the Spices:
Heat EVOO in a small pan. Sauté sliced shallots, then add the mashed garlic, turmeric, and ginger. Add lemongrass, bay leaf, and galangal. Stir until fragrant. -
Cook the Rice & Veggies:
Add grated carrot, green beans, rice, and broth. Simmer until all ingredients are soft and blended well. -
Add Tomato & Spring Onion:
Toss in the cherry tomato and spring onion. Cook briefly until wilted. -
Adjust Texture:
Remove all large spices (lemongrass, galangal, etc.). Blend into a smooth puree or shred the chicken for finger food depending on your baby's preference.
Serving:

For Puree: Blend until smooth. Add broth if needed. Serve warm.
