7-Month Baby Recipe: Chicken Marinara — A Fresh and Savory Meal Babies Love

Introducing variety during your baby’s weaning journey doesn’t just make mealtime more enjoyable — it also supports balanced nutrition. Chicken Marinara is a perfect blend of protein, fiber, and fresh flavors that are gentle on your baby’s taste buds. The combination of chicken, tomato, and vegetables creates a savory yet light flavor, ideal to introduce from 7 months old. This recipe is also flexible — you can serve it as a smooth puree or adapt it for Baby-Led Weaning (BLW).

  • 40 g minced chicken

  • ½ tomato, seeds removed

  • 10 g broccoli (can be substituted with other vegetables)

  3. Prepare the broccoli – Steam or boil until tender. Finely chop or keep small florets for BLW.

  4. Sauté aromatics – Heat a little oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.

  5. Cook the chicken – Add minced chicken and stir until cooked through.

  6. Add tomato & basil – Stir in the pureed tomato and chopped basil. Mix well.

  7. Add potatoes & broccoli – Combine with the chicken mixture, stir gently.

  8. Pour in chicken broth gradually while stirring until the desired consistency is achieved. Cook briefly until the mixture thickens slightly and flavors combine.
