6 Month MPASI Recipe: Chicken Soto for Babies Rich in Flavor and Nutrition

This chicken soto is adapted for 6-month-old babies and is rich in natural flavors and essential nutrients for their growth and development. This recipe can be used for both MPASI and BLW methods. This baby version of chicken soto is not only nutritious, but also helps your little one get to know the taste of traditional food from an early age.


Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp white or brown rice (choose organic if possible)
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 30 grams of skinless chicken meat (free range chicken fillet is recommended)
  • 10 grams of carrots (peeled, cut into small pieces)
  • 10 grams of tomatoes (cut into small pieces)
  • 100ml chicken stock (click the link for how to make homemade chicken stock)
Spices:
  • 1 stalk of spring onion (take the green part, finely chop)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 lime leaves
  • 1 red onion & garlic & a slice of turmeric (all three grated until smooth)

How to make:

  1. Saute all the spices and stock:
    Saute the spices with 1 teaspoon of olive oil until they turn yellow. Add the broth and cook until boiling.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and saute until cooked:
    Add carrots, tomatoes and chicken first and cook until done. Add rice and cook until boiling. Set aside bay leaves and lime leaves.

  3. Puree the ingredients:

    • For MPASI: Blend everything until smooth and strain if necessary.
    • For BLW: Serve with steamed carrots cut lengthwise and cored tomatoes.
  4. Customize Texture:
    Add boiled water if necessary to get the consistency that suits your baby's needs.
