Since the first inflatable airplane pillows were launched in 2017, we are happy to announce that inflatable airplane pillows such as Poupuffe , Kooshy Kids and Fly Tots are now allowed on more than 100 airlines worldwide!
However, airline policies can change at any time, so we recommend checking directly with the airline and bringing written proof of approval so you can be more relaxed during your trip. Especially if you are traveling with one of the airlines that are included in the list that do not allow the use of inflatable airplane pillows such as JetStar Australia or Qantas which are known to be super strict with their safety regulations.

Tips for Using Your Airplane Inflatable Pillow on Flights
To increase your chances of using this product on your flight, contact the airline directly via email before flying. Here are some important points you can share via email with the airline:
- Your reasons for using this airplane inflatable pillow product (for example, to reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis during the trip or traveling with a fussy child who will most likely disturb the comfort of other passengers if they don't get enough sleep)
- This product will be safely stored during taxi, takeoff, and landing.
- This product is inflated only when the seat belt sign is turned off after takeoff or before landing.
- Make sure your child remains strapped in with a seat belt when using the airplane inflatable pillow.
- Product size when inflated. Brands like Poupuffe measure 54 cm (L) x 42 cm (H) x 38 cm (P) with a weight of 720 grams. Poupuffe can fit all seats in economy, premium, and bulkhead classes.
- That inflatable pillow products like Poupuffe meet aviation safety requirements because:
- The Poupuffe does not require FAA approval as a comfort device, but it does meet IATA's strict guidelines for in-flight comfort devices.
- Does not obstruct electrical devices or safety buoys under the seat.
- That the use of Poupuffe does not block cabin aisle access and is not used on Emergency Exit seats.
- The Poupuffe is equipped with a pressure relief valve for safety if cabin pressure changes.
- Its use does not disturb the comfort of other passengers , and the seat in front can still be reclined as usual.
- Poupuffe will be used in accordance with airline safety requirements .
By providing this information to the airline, you can increase your chances of using an airplane pillow during your flight and enjoy a more comfortable trip with your family.
Rules for Using Airplane Inflatable Pillows
- Two products can be used side by side, for example in the middle and window seats, with an adult in the aisle seat.
- Make sure not to block access to other passengers or safety devices under the seat.
- Portable electric pumps are allowed in the cabin as the batteries must be stored in the cabin bag, not in checked baggage.

Follow these tips so you can enjoy a more comfortable trip with Poupuffe and family. Don't forget to always check the latest airline policies and their safety rules before flying!
